Second Meeting

Well, What a turn out that was!! I arrived at the SIFE meeting a bit late and the meeting room was packed with new members, All divided up into different project groups and stuck into brainstorming new ideas and plans to get this year up and running. The groups were divided into;

Working with the homeless, a consultancy group, a brand new international projects group, a youth centre/community group and also a 'new ideas' group. Plenty of activity filled the room as everyone gave their ideas and opinions. I joined the international project group to see what they were up to and loads of great ideas were being discussed. It will be a challenging project to start up but once it does it will definitely make a huge impact and be a great achievement for SIFE Cardiff. It was great to see so many people interested and looking forward to putting their ideas into action in the up and coming weeks.

The team are also selling the absolutely delicious Krispy Kreme donuts early next week at the Students' Union to help fundraise for various projects and hopefully this will be a sell out success!

Our meeting next week should hopefully lead to some concrete plans for specific projects and good contacts being made with the community in Cardiff and further...

Welcome!

Welcome to the first Blog for SIFE Cardiff!

This blog will aim to record all the progress and news of SIFE Cardiff this year so members and anyone interested in what we are trying to achieve can follow our projects and plans!

From our first meeting this year that was held last week it was evident that there was a big interest in SIFE this year. With the great efforts of the President of SIFE Cardiff Jamie, along with Hannah, Jo and Zoe many students turned up to gain further information (whilst enjoying the free food provided!). The presentation seemed to be a big hit and led to an increasing list of students signing up to our team, ready to start fundraising and supporting our expanding projects and ideas.

With a Krispy Kreme donut sale already in sight and a second group meeting to start bouncing around some more project ideas SIFE Cardiff looks as if it will be bigger and better this year!
